DESIGN 2020 Conference
October 26, 2020 - October 29, 2020
Discussion and further development of all aspects of design knowledge from cognition and philosophy, to methods and tools, from research theory to practice.
The DESIGN Conference programme offers broad exchange possibilities to researchers and practitioners, strategic decision makers, managers, design and engineering professionals, national or regional agencies or governmental bodies.
The goal of DESIGN Conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners who have worked on or thought about engineering and industrial design from a variety of perspectives, disciplines, and fields: engineering, aesthetics, ergonomics, psychology, sociology and the like.
We invite high-quality submissions for DESIGN 2020 covering substantial, original and previously unpublished research. Improvements in the engineering design process have been supported by theories and methods developed by research groups around the world. There is a constant need to harmonise the findings, and to ensure that these findings are built upon and developed so that they can be transferred into engineering practice.
DESIGN 2020 papers key questions
How this influences engineering design methodologies and tools in practice? How to improve design projects and processes? How to improve the development of products and services? Which competencies, information and communication technologies are needed? What is the impact on the everyday design work? What social and legal issues should be considered? What are the new advances in design theory and research?
Applied, theoretical and results oriented papers from both academia and industry, based on thorough analysis or argumentation, will all be considered for the conference programme. The submitted papers should fit into one of the proposed conference topics. It is expected that these specific topics are extensive and non exhaustive. A list of examples is added for illustrating the core topics. It is required explicitly from all contributors to show how they are contributing to the overall research within these areas.
Organization of a DESIGN Conference series is a result of the continued policy and continuous learning process, connecting researchers and practitioners attempting to understand better the problems they are trying to address.
The objectives of the DESIGN Conferences tend to be integrative across the various disciplines, to reach the current state-of-the-art, to cover the multidisciplinary aspects of design and to assure high-level review policy.
All activities in the organization of DESIGN conference through the years have been oriented to fulfill those goals motivating the researchers and practitioners to participate in these truly international high-quality events. Until 2000, the conferences were supported by WDK (Workshop Design-Konstruktion) while the recent events have continued the tradition under the sign of the Design Society, providing a forum for cooperative interactions among participants.
DESIGN 2014 Conference has attracted more than 300 participants from more than 30 countries.
The forthcoming DESIGN 2016 Conference is founded on the continuous development of organization and evaluation procedure that resulted in a capacity to deliver procedures and conditions of communicative competence. The Organizational Board invites you to the 14th International DESIGN Conference – DESIGN 2016 to continue the tradition of the previous meetings by presenting your view on the “EXCELLENCE IN DESIGN”.

The word codesign consists of two connected words: code sign. The idea in choosing this name comes from combining the role and design of the designer with the entire technology world, which is based entirely on ‘code’ writing.
Our business approach is based on sharing, trust and empathy. In order to accurately understand the needs of the business and to do the job best, it is necessary to mark a high presence in the field, to mark goals and objectives, ie to ‘sign’. This approach optimally adapts technology solutions to all types of problems, including generating data-based insights that help make vital business decisions.
This is the reason for choosing the name ‘codesign’ because our work process indicates that we have been here, that we have provided a correct and professional response to the customer’s satisfaction. This unique combination is copyrighted because of the originality of the name and its meaning.
The story began during the military period, when I volunteered to serve in the Givati unit in the Shaked Battalion in the IDF, but towards the end of the military service, on 12/05/2004, during an operational activity in the Philadelphi route, I sustained a serious injury that accompanies me to this day.
After a long rehabilitation period that included many physical therapy treatments, I enrolled in design studies at one of the best colleges in Israel, Thilten College in Haifa. I graduated with honors, won awards, started a small business and started working as an independent.
Today I am a design engineer and graphic designer in my professional training and I am a research scientist at a private and independent research institute I set up. I completed applied mathematics and computer science studies in an autodidactic way from the Technion and even participated in various theoretical and practical workshops at leading universities in Israel: Hebrew University, Bar-Ilan University, Ben-Gurion University and Weizmann Institute of Science.
During my work, as an independent, I was exposed to a variety of problems that many of my clients have encountered, so I thought of starting a professional blog that would concentrate on all the latest and most useful information to provide added value and great solution to all my clients and colleagues.
