[Sticky] AIIDE 2020
THE 16TH AAAI CONFERENCE ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND INTERACTIVE DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT
The 16th AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Interactive Digital Entertainment (AIIDE-20) is the next in an annual series of conferences showcasing interdisciplinary research on modeling, developing, and evaluating intelligent systems in entertainment. AIIDE-20 provides a meeting place for AI researchers and practitioners to discuss the latest advances and contemporary issues in entertainment-focused AI. The conference has a long history of featuring research on artificial intelligence in computer games, and continues to grow into areas beyond games. We invite researchers, developers, and digital artists to share ideas on topics at the intersection of all forms of entertainment and artificial intelligence. AIIDE-20 will feature invited speakers, paper sessions, workshops, tutorials, playable experiences, artifact evaluation, panels, posters, AI competitions, a reception, and a doctoral consortium. AIIDE-20 is sponsored by the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI).
The 16th AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Interactive Digital Entertainment (AIIDE-20) will be held on October 19-23, 2020 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, MA, USA. Sponsored by the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), AIIDE brings together researchers and practitioners who work in AI for entertainment, including game designers, creative technologists, media artists, and academic and industrial AI researchers. This year, AIIDE especially encourages submissions to respond to the theme of “Foundations for Shared Progress”.
See Call for Participation for information on how to submit papers, workshop and tutorial proposals, and more.
SPECIAL TOPIC: “FOUNDATIONS FOR SHARED PROGRESS”
The special topic of this year is “Foundations for Shared Progress”. When creating new intelligent systems for digital entertainment, it can be challenging to build on the work of others. We search for missing details, we struggle to replicate test conditions, and we strain to determine whether stated results will hold in our domains. At the same time, relevant advances made in industry are only seldom made public, leading to missed opportunities and duplicated work. This year, we encourage submissions of works that aim to improve this situation. Potential sub-topics include, but are not limited to: common frameworks, integrated perspectives, disambiguations of language, shared testbeds, practical considerations, and best practices for reporting new results. We also encourage all authors to clearly explain how their submitted contributions could support the work of others.
