SPECIAL TOPIC: “FOUNDATIONS FOR SHARED PROGRESS”
The special topic of this year is “Foundations for Shared Progress”. When creating new intelligent systems for digital entertainment, it can be challenging to build on the work of others. We search for missing details, we struggle to replicate test conditions, and we strain to determine whether stated results will hold in our domains. At the same time, relevant advances made in industry are only seldom made public, leading to missed opportunities and duplicated work. This year, we encourage submissions of works that aim to improve this situation. Potential sub-topics include, but are not limited to: common frameworks, integrated perspectives, disambiguations of language, shared testbeds, practical considerations, and best practices for reporting new results. We also encourage all authors to clearly explain how their submitted contributions could support the work of others.
