Tech4Muni TLV 2018

September 4, 2018

The digital revolution in public service does not stop, let’s solve the challenges!

Welcome to Tech for Muni – a new generation event where a technological product meets a customer.

GovTech (Government Technologies) is one of the hottest and most growing fields in recent years and is still a waste. This is a huge market with unprecedented growth potential. For example, only government digitalization is estimated at an annual turnover of $1 trillion and a 10% increase in digitization will increase GDP growth by 0.75% and reduce the unemployment rate by 1%.

The event is part of the “Digital Leaders” project for local government to promote innovation in the public sector by connecting the challenges of 15 local authorities serving some 1.8 million residents to leading technology companies, thereby increasing cooperation between technology companies and the public sector.

For the success of the process, senior officials in these authorities underwent an in-depth study of government technologies, and characterized challenges that the authorities are dealing with and are now seeking a solution. During the event you will have the opportunity to work a full day with these authorities and solve the challenges. The selected solutions will be eligible to participate in a paid pilot project with the relevant authority.

The event will take place on September 4, 2018 on the Google campus in Tel Aviv.

You are invited to TECH4MUNI – a Pitch Event where Israeli startups present their solutions to municipal challenges.

Some of the challenges:

1) Difficulty in communicating messages and messages in a personal and targeted manner to residents (eg, cultural events, closing roads, etc.).

2) Lack of a convenient, immediate and accessible communications channel for transmitting complaints about hazards and requests for information from residents and visitors.

3) Municipal services and information (for example, a request for a building permit in the engineering department) are carried out manually, cumbersome and without transparency to the resident.

4) The difficulty of municipal staff in providing a focused response tailored to different populations in the city (for example, people with disabilities) during emergency events.

5) Lack of services (urban and general) accessible to the third age population, which make it difficult for them to continue to live in the Authority.

6) Lack of access to urban information and rights that can help the success of small and medium businesses.

7) Lack of awareness among tourists regarding tourist attractions in the city, such that many of them do not spend sufficient time in the city.

8) Difficulty in optimal planning of building public institutions according to the demographic data of the residents.

9) Garbage disposal in the city is inefficient and causes health hazards.

10) Lack of information and knowledge sharing among employees of the authority that harms the quality of the products and the service to the resident.
