The Section of Engineering Design and Product Development, DTU Mechanical Engineering, will arrange the 14th biennial NordDesign conference at the Technical University of Denmark, Kongens Lyngby, Denmark. The NordDesign conferences serve as a Nordic complement to the larger international conferences in design and product development, but we also wish to welcome participants from all other countries.

Conference Theme: Balancing Innovation and Operation

These years there are very though requirements on industrial companies to launch more innovative products and services faster to the market and at the same time increase operation efficiency. On the innovation side key questions are related to e.g. true user experience, circularity, and implementation of electrification & digitalization of products. Concerning operations efficiency key questions are related to e.g. automation, modularization and manufacturing foot print. The way product and service development is executed very much influence both innovation and operation efficiency and is the overall topic of NordDesign 2020.
