The International Design Conference 2019 is a celebration of the diversity, overlap and undeniable power of design. Three years in the making, this landmark event is a revolutionary step by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) to invite influential voices to the table for a long awaited conversation.

The convergence of digital and physical experiences has illuminated the need for cross-disciplinary dialog in an open setting where the freedom to explore is granted and the honesty of failure is embraced.

At the International Design Conference 2019, we place multi-disciplinary design through multi-sensory experiences on the main stage. We will cultivate a shared understanding that allows designers from all backgrounds to rally around common themes and challenges. We will proclaim our passions so that others may be inspired by them. We will honor our individuality while making it undeniably clear that we are stronger when we collaborate.

Marcelle van Beusekom and Mark Wilson need little introduction. They are two of the most prominent voices in design, experience and technology today. Their audiences span a vast spectrum of design practice and each has become a luminary in their own right. What happens when they get together? Well, we’re just as excited to find out as you are!

As International Design Conference emcees, Marcelle and Mark will take turns guiding the audience in an orchestrated dialog through two days of top-tier presentations by leading design minds from around the world. They will provide reaction and provocation to the conversation and deliver their unique perspective in a way that only they can.

With its roots as the national meeting of the Industrial Designers Society of America, the IDC has grown into something much bigger. However, at its core remains a platform for amplifying the unique and bold voice of Industrial Design.

Today, we recognize that our creative community is not binary and the role of design is constantly shifting. Once siloed disciplines now overlap and blur. To face this reality, it is critical that we open the conversation to as many creative perspectives as possible in the interest of developing a shared dialogue that advances our ability to collaborate and magnifies the impact of our work.
