August Penguin 2018 is annual conference of the Israeli Free and Open Source Software community, and is organized by the Hamakor organization for the last 15 years.

August Penguin 2018 is a place to meet the community, hear lectures, exchange new ideas and hold discussions on technical, legal, theoretical and practical issues related to open source issues in general and specific issues related to Israel or the Hebrew language. The conference is also a major meeting place for specific open source communities, whether to showcase annual activity or to allow face-to-face meetings. Most of the lectures are in Hebrew, and a few are delivered in English.

We are making an effort to enable everyone’s participation in the conference. If you have a need for accessibility adjustments or other form of assistance, please request such in at the registration form or by mail at least a week in advance.

The event provides a meeting place for different Free and Open Source Software communities and a stage on which to present their work through the year.
