Just as the PrintScreen function captures a screenshot of your computer, the festival captures a contemporary screenshot of life in the epoch of new media.

We live in an age of “Fake it till you make it”, where we pretend that everything is all right, stay optimistic and proclaim that if we succeed, reality will follow. The Cheshire Cat told Alice in Wonderland: “Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality.” And imagination works non-stop in this day and age in worlds that become more and more virtual.

What happens when the fake takes over reality? When the Instagram story is much more interesting than daily life? When it isn’t clear where the truth begins and the lie ends? What’s the place of technology in making up these illusions? How will the world look like when we can’t trust our own senses? Print Screen 2018 deals with the thin line between creation and falsehood, creativity and fraud, between fake and make with dozens of artists, scientists, designers, filmmakers and tech professionals from Israel and around the world.

Interactive exhibitions, theater and sound performances, films, an Internet art fair, panels with international guests, and a party open to the public every evening!

This is the eighth year of the Print Screen Festival, the International Festival of Art and Digital Culture. Just as the Print Screen captures the screen image at a given moment, the festival also presents a snapshot of life in the digital age. The festival brings together artists who create digital art, technology professionals, researchers of this era and a broad audience for four days of activity in Mediatheque Holon, which includes a wide range of films, installations, performance, interactive exhibitions, workshops and panels.
