The New Year of Hasidism

The festive show “Tzamah” on the 19th of Kislev “Feast of Redemption”
**

During the past week (03-07/12/17) a “Tzamah” performance took place at Binyanei Ha’uma in Jerusalem. This is a Chabad celebration that includes a performance called “Tzama”, conducted by Naor Carmi and performed by the best singers in Jewish and Hasidic music. The show is a total experience, and it has to be approached. You have to choose to be inside and go all the way, to give up the pessimism and cynicism, to reduce yourself to the great ideas that “thirst for my soul” and dance with all the joy and energy. The “Tzamah” festive is no longer a regular musical performance in which the singers present their musical abilities to the audience, but it is a spiritual connection that stems from the depths of the soul and is all meant to be happy and exciting and to work the name through singing and melodies. The singers are only a tool for songs and a joy that bursts like a stormy wave from the direction of the audience that asks the band to return and play the songs ended with ecstatic enthusiasm.

A “Tzamah” festive show full of the idea of the need for humility, because to see the name you have to reduce yourself and only then can you look at the name from a distance and see it.

On the stage, Avraham Fried, Yonatan Razel, Yishai Ribo and Ariel Zilber and a special guest named Akiva Turgeman performed and performed the best hits from the Tzama project in a particularly exciting and renewed performance.

The show opened after that Trump declared Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel and apparently not coincidentally with Ribo’s performance of the song “The Temple Will Be Built.” Ribo threw the audience into the air with the song “And I Blow You A Blessing” which became a particularly stormy dance of the audience that participated in Ribo’s joy over the birth of his third son.

This year, an interesting innovation was evident: two of the singers performed their own personal song, Ariel Zilber performed his own “Parable of Bicycles” song while Yonatan Razel performed the hit “Katunati” when Avraham Fried unexpectedly joined him for a special performance that was one of the highlights of this great evening.

For long parts of the evening, the audience simply stood up, jumped and danced with enthusiastic applause and singing that accompanied the singers throughout the evening. Interestingly, some of the most turbulent sections were old videos in which the Lubavitcher Rebbe “lights” his followers with the song “Tzmah lecha nafshi” and “And you broke”.

The passages were fascinating, the singers Zilber and Razal presented short passages from the Tanya who spoke to them and explained their contents. The singer Fried also chose to do this when singing together with the audience words from the Tanya verse to the melody of “Eli You” and behold the Lord stood upon him and the whole of the land of His glory and examined the heart and if worked properly.

The enthusiastic and amusing words of Rabbi Yosef Jacobson managed to fascinate me and the entire hall when the audience, most of which is not Chabad Hasidism, responds enthusiastically to things, and in general the messages were conveyed in a pleasant and pleasant manner without the audience feeling disturbed.

One of the highlights of the show was the joint performance by all the singers for the song “Higale na” in a wonderful and exciting harmonica of voices that the connection and unity between the singers was evident with a deep and genuine sincere admiration.

More than 60,000 participants attended the Tzamah performances, which made the event the largest Jewish event of all time. This is an amazing and special achievement for Rabbi Moshe Shilat, who is behind this tremendous project with all its branches and musician Naor Carmi, who succeeds each year in taking these old melodies and turning them into exciting hits that everyone wants to sing and hear.

The “Tzamah” festive show is a delightful and captivating experience.
